Your girlfriend like the outdoors?

Monday, November 30th, 2009
I “was” in a relationship for years, and big into bass fishing,  fishing, camping, boating, BBQ, etc. But my Ex never wants to go or even try. She always wanted to travel and party, what can I do in the future to get any women interested in the outdoors. Well, besides join this site and look?

I’m not big in the party/drinking vibe.

Please any decent advice please.

Good speakers amp for my boat

Monday, November 30th, 2009
Hello all! It looks like I will be getting a $500 budget (For Christmas) to put a sound sytem in my boat. I’m hopefully getting 4 speakers, 1 sub and an AMP, could someone tell me how many watts each should i need? As mentioned I  have a limit of $500 or less on this, and seeing its going in my boat does  it needs to be marine grade? or the stereo will be placed in a sealed compartment so it doesn’t have to be marine grade.Suggestions?

Thanks in Advance

Barrier-free fish meaning?

Saturday, November 28th, 2009
What does Barrier-free fishing mean? I also would like recommendations on places to fish that is near the bay area, no more then 2 hours away from San Francisco. I am looking mainly for catfish, panfish, and black bass. A plus if there is a tackle shop near by and a place to rent a boat at. Thank you
Jay

New rod set-up for my New Girl

Friday, November 27th, 2009
Hello all, I hope its ok for me to post in here…
But Im wanting to get the girlfriend a new set-up for Christmas and would like some advice. It will be a multi-purpose rod mostly for reef/yt/and inshore live bait fishing. She does not want a “girly” looking/pink rod but she did like some of the custom ones at the shop that had shiny stuff on them. What do y’all like? thanks

Take the fly fishing test..

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009
It’s all in good fun, I came across this test on the Internet and thought i would give it a go on some of the questions. Some were obviously very easy and others caught me a little off-guard. Take the test and try to provide an answer to a question you did NOT know or guess.

#1 In fly fishing what is the difference between double taper and weight forward fly line?

#2 What is the main feature and benefit of the new lightweight fishing waders?

#3 what is the main benefits of the spectra type line that leads to it recent popularity?

#4 what are the benefits of fiberglass and graftif rods?

#5 what is the main advantage of a felt sole wader?

#6 What technology enable fish finders to work effectively?

#7 What are the benefits of color in fishing lures?

Fenwick fishing Rod trade.

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009
I traded some old lures for a  Fenwick Spinning and Fly Combo. Specs- 7′0″, 1/8-5/8 lures, 6-12lb, and it is carbon veil/ graphite?. The spinning reel is an Abu Garcia Cardinal–8lbs/80yds. I don’t know how to fly fish so the fly reel isn’t of much importance to me. Anyway, my question is what kind of fish would this rod & reel combo be capable of handling? Also, can I do some saltwater striper fishing with it or will it fail? Lastly, should I get 8lb mono or 8lb braid? Thanks

Oregon Fly Fishing Photography

Rich Schaaff is a photographer and fly fisherman living along the banks of the East Fork of the Lewis River in Washington State outside of Portland,Oregon.

He openly acknowledges his over-indulgence in the pursuit of trout and steelhead, but refuses to seek professional help. Instead he bought a Nikon camera which he maintains is his form of therapy on the road to recovery. He feels that taking photographs of some of the nuances of flyfishing and the landscape surrounding it will have residual health benefits.

Rich captures stunning images, and I encourage you to visit his website and view his photography. I especially loved the landscapes gallery.
