Bass Boats and big engines? We British anglers are amazed and fascinated with American boats and the Bass Boats seems to be like a rocket ship more then an aid to catching bass. When we go fishing in the UK we like to sneak up on the fish, but those boat motors would scare the fish away here? How is that possible?

Most will say it is due to time in tournaments, but having worked for a year at a Ranger dealership, I know that it’s for the same reasons. They want a fancy boat like other do with sports cars and why Ranger sells so many boats.
Because they are used in mainly large 20-40,000 acre lakes in tournaments. In short, so the bass fishermen can get to different parts of large lakes quickly. You can quickly fish one area for a while, then go to another area. Maybe our lakes are bigger in the US. This doesn’t scare the fish out of the water either. Maybe our fish are tougher – pitbulls with gills – LOL!!!
I Also thought it was to show off but now I know it’s all about time is money . They have to get to their fishing spots in a real hurry and catch fish for weigh ins.
As normal with most thing in life.Time is money in tournaments, that’s one thing that pushed me away from bass fishing, its got very commercialized over the years and isn’t as “sporting” as it was when i was young. So the speed is needed for them to get to the fishing spot, before the “rivals” get there, when i used to fish, it was make do with another area of the lake, if you didn’t get there early enough, which showed how good of an angler you REALLY were, by catching more fish than them in a less productive area. That’s one thing that’s wrong with bass fishing today.
