My brother is an aspiring bass amateur, who will be fishing in quite a few tournaments this summer. He does not have a radio on the boat, and I would like to purchase one for him for his birthday. It would also be a good idea while he fishes, and peace of mind for me knowing he can get the weather updates. He has a beautiful Nitro Bass boat, and I know I would like to have it be Sirius compatible, but other than that I am clueless as to what I should be shopping for. Any suggestions bass-anglers and boaters? Thanks so much!- Sunfish

Here are some great radios you might want to consider. Clarion, Jensen, & Sony. JBL – has several units that I have used and work well. Also, I highly suggest to get the radio professionally installed I would suggest going to a local marine store or boat dealer and purchase it from them and have them install the unit. Just make sure it is a “Marine” AM / FM Satellite Radio.
Tight lines
Alpine has some really nice marine specific stereos and a little pricey and are satellite ready and have awesome full speed Ipod control so he won’t need to mess with cd’s. You should check it out. Or for lots of info on many other marine options.
I’d buy him a nice boudoir set with garters give him what he wants, not what you hope to think he needs. if he needed a marine radio while fishing intensely connected to a tournaments grueling attention deficit disorder then if he can afford a bass boat he would have afforded a marine radio. You want the radio because you are bored while he is fishing so take your IPOD with you next time.
