Steps to fillet a crappie

Here’s a great video on the correct steps to fillet a crappie and these fish are huge! Simple and easy and hopefully be able to do this soon ;-)

    That’s a great video and you got to love the electric knife. In that video that’s a big mess of fish, only thing i would suggest is to remove the skin flap hanging on the bottom point of the fillet by the bottom of the rib cage after you cut it off, it can carry a few scales and on a larger slab make it a little chewy.

    I sure like to use the Browning Fillet Knife sold by BPS. You can either use a wall outlet or it has battery terminal clips that allow you to clean the fish at the ramp or right on the boat. I’be wore out a couple of other brands, but for now this is the best one I’ve found.

    There is a much better way to do this, and he’s missing a TON of meat in the gut of those fish. This is okay, but not the best, IMO.
