First, I’d go with go with the ultra-light. I would suggest using 6′to7′ light or medium action spinning rods.Size 10 to 20 spinning reels.4# to 6# test xl(extra-limp) line.1/32 oz minnow style jig heads with 1 1/2″ grub body’s (curly tails or bubble belly’s).Get some berkley power bait crappie nibbles to put on the jig hook in chartreuse or pink color and your set.I like to throw em out behind the boat and troll on slow speed but you can cast em and reel in on a slow retrieve with good results as well.then I’d get an assortment of sizes of small lead heads from 1/64 to 3/8 oz and an assortment of sizes/colors plastic grubs and tubes. 1 to 3 inches in white, yellow, combinations, whatever other colors happen to turn you on. jig these under docks, in reed beds, in and around other water plants, trees, brush, stumps. Make sure too vary your depths until you find them. fish either with or without a float. sometimes one way may work better than the other.Everything mentioned can be purchased at the dreaded Walmart except for the bubble belly’s.They are made by bass assassin and are called tiny shads or panfish assassins and cabela,s or bass pro and the like is where to find them.Best colors for me are gold pepper shiner and grasshopper for the panfish assassins and milky shad and smoke for the berkley curly tails.

P.S. live 2″ minnows will always work.;-)
