Float tube fishing rig

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010
Float tube fishingHello, from Mississippi! My new favorite way to fish is wade fishing for Largemouth bass in small rivers. So my question is if  I were to use my new float tube, what would be the best way to weight it? My thoughts were to possibly place a splitshot on the inside of it? A splitshot on the main line? A regular texas rig? A texas rig with a pegged weight? Or a completely weightless set up?
Thanks all for your or any advice,
Jonny in Misssissippi

Surf fishing Padre Island TX
Hi guys/gals. It looks like I’ll be heading out on Sunday to do a little surf fishing on Padre Island Texas. I’ll be leaving with friends and we got our surf rods,  licenses, beer, and all the tackle minus hooks and  weights. Any bait recommendations for this time of year and are most beaches shore fishing friendly?

House boat and fishing

Quick question for houseboat owners or renters. I get my kids for 2 months and was thinking about renting a houseboat for a a week or two. It would be for and my two children that are 14-17 (boys). Also, my sister and her husband and their two children (12-13) to split the costs. So my question is what should I be looking for when I rent a houseboat? Any special amenities? Do the Companies that rent houseboats let you tow a fishing boat or jet-skis with the boat? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I met someone nice and being an avid angler. He also loves to fish and I do and do you think it would be odd to ask him to go fishing on a first date? The weather is perfect for fishing and I think it would be a great first date. What do you all think?

How to find rare fishing lures

Thursday, July 15th, 2010
rare fishing lures
Afternoon all. I thought I’d post here because I have read some great answers by some good folks to very difficult questions.  I am always on the lookout for rare fishing lures and have built up a good collection over the years trading with friends and family. Currently, I am looking for a lure, it is made by lucky craft, it is small, they come it different sizes/colors, the larger ones are about an inch long, and small one is 3/4 inch. They are a gundrop shape, the package says they are sammy specials, they are used for drift fishing for steelhead. I am almost certain they’re made out of balsa wood.
Can anyone help me find some….Jesse in Oregon

Pricing on a steelhead mount?

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

stealhead mountI was thinking about getting my first steelhead mount but just don’t know any reliable companies or how to go about getting one mounted? I believe the pricing is done by the inch?… does it matter by species? Any information would be great and as mentioned, this will be my first mounted or stuffed fish.

North Carolina river fishing?

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010
North Carolina river fishing Hey members! I got a job transfer and in a month I’ll be living in North Carolina and I am a avid bass fishing woman. I am starting to do some research via the net for some good inland fishing lakes/rivers in North Carolina? Obviously, I am looking lakes/rivers that have good fish numbers and a variety of species that you are almost guaranteed to be able to catch multiple fish not just bass.

More info:

My favorite fish (in order):

1.) Largemouth bass Smallmouth Bass
2.) Musky/Pike
3.) Walleye
4.) Trout (brown, rainbow, or salmon)
5.) Panfish (Crappie, Sunfish, Perch)
6.) Catfish

I’d sure like to hear from other to hear from other experience anglers fishing North Carolinas lakes/rivers. From the mountains to the coastal plains.

Thank you.
