Hey all looking to get some feedback from other bass anglers here. I been given access to a new pond and need a bit of advice because the pond/lake is 64 acres, 30ft deep, sandy and mud bottom with hydrilla. The Pond is full of largemouth bass with zero structures on the pond or any stumps/rocks for the bass to hide. I’ve done pretty well with open water cranks and landed many 2lbers but with 30 ft depths I can’t find any large bass. This is a very healthy un-fished stocked pond.. any advice?

Hello all! I thought I’d post a question regarding simple fishing gear. I am just your average fisherman and for bait, I use your run of the mill powerbaits, salmon eggs, and worms, you can buy at any local bait shop. I have been hooking up a lot of trout and largemouth bass with store bought minnows and now only want to use live bait when fishing. After searching the net I see many “minnow traps” that are just some sort of plastic bottle contraption. I posted the picture above and I was wondering if anyone here uses this trap or would suggest one or a direction to go?

Hello all thought I’dpost about being an absolute newbie at fly fishing. I am still struggling a bit with casting and landing a trout but I am hooked on fly fishing. Now it’s time to buy my own equipment although I have only been on two fly fishing trips with others and now I think I am ready to venture out alone. I am looking to buy a nice, mid-priced, decent rod. Do any fly anglers on this site want to point me in the right direction or a good suggestion? I have been told by many, that fly fishing kits are more problems then good?
thanks for any help!!!!!

My boyfriend has said many time he loves me and life can’t go on without me. It never stops with him and we had another big explosion and he walked out of the house. He then tried to spread horrible rumors about me to mutual friends and even family. He has a substantial drinking problems and is one of the type of guys that must “win” every battle, argument, or one up you on any conversation. He has a past that includes horrible business dealing, tax evasion, etc. Nobody knows this and I kept it in confidence all these years, but I feel compelled to expose them because of the horrible rumors he spreads. He acts like a child if I point out the slightest personal flaws. On the outside he appears like savior and pillar of the community. But has no problem verbally abusing me (and children) like no one else I’ve ever known/been with and then left and played the victim after he also verbally abused my children. I did stand up for my children like a good mother. The cycle never stops with him and I don’t think he can take any narcissistic injury to his ego. He’s furious and I did love him very much, but my true feeling now is complete emptiness. How do I treat a narcissist like this because it’s been 2 weeks he’s gone and he will soon try to come back? In short, I am finished and need ideas. I just want to meet a nice person with manageable flaws (we all have them) and just live life.

These guys are out in a local Kentucky pond and showing how simple and easy is to catch crappie in a farm pond. Looks like a great day and a good fish fry later.

It’s straight forward and simple question. I’ve been casually dating this guy for a months now and friends and family are putting pressure on me to end my relationship because he’s not in the same social cast I come from. Should I take what they are saying into consideration before becoming official with him?…or move on?

Hello all I have a question for the members of this blog regarding the North American Fishing Club? Has anyone joined or is a current member? Their promotion is only a only $1 per month, the free gifts and other offers that all sound good, but the catch is you must pay for a 3 year membership to get them. They offer a refund if not satisfied, but that would be a pain to go through.
My question, is the magazines worth a 3 year price subscription? Is/does the gifts have some value or is it that cheap crap from china? Their information says for 3 years of membership ($36.00), you get the magazines and also “free” 8 piece fillet knife set, wing-it bobbers and hooks. In addition, “product testing privileges”, “giveaway opportunities”, and a “fishing resource directory”.
Sounds good to me..is there a catch?…your thoughts.

Hello CupidFish! What’s a good first date with a tight budget? I don’t want to do the first date coffee house thing because it’s not original and a bit boring. Plus, it’s summer and she is an avid outdoors women, so I’m not so sure she even drinks coffee, anyway. Anyone have ideas to suggest? I was thinking a small picnic on the beach, but this might be to serious for a first date? I would like to do something fun and original, but I guess I am a bit nervous because I can not think of anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Time to chip in and ask a question? Should I just focus on fishing one type of fish? Because my fishing techniques and equipment is so scattered. I mean, after you spend the money on fishing equipment for catfish, carp, panfish, and bass my wallet is hurting. I like to fish for them all and depending on the season your choices will get narrow, but I think it’s time to take it down to one species and target it more frequently? I have to do something. I guess and can still go about with fishing for those but bass, catfish, carp, and panfish all need separate gear. Now if I just focus on bass fishing alone I would still just have a little over a dozen or so reels/rods. I could sale some of my other fishing supplies/equipment and could earn profit.
Just wanted to see what you anglers out their think I should do? David
