Cupidfish Florida Fishing question?

Florida fishing flag
Hey All, looking for some Florida fishing and travel advice. My kids and I will be flying into Tampa in mid-September where we will stay in a hotel in South of the City to first visit or newly retired relatives. One of our main goals is to visit the Everglades and of course, go to Key West and hopefully do some great fishing. Any suggestions on what to do or what you would highly recommend/other fun things to do? We would like to avoid huge tourist destinations and don’t want to stay in large cities like Miami or Orlando. All we want to do is relax and have some fun and our trip will be 14 days.
Thanks for any information,
Jerry, in NJ

It still will be hot here, so whatever you do be hydrated. You can visit Gatorland, the zoo, and maybe cypress gardens is great and it is cheap and you cant forget the lines are like 5-10 minuets!!! it has a water park as well that you can get into free with normal admission to the theme park it is in polk county, but you could stay in a hotel near buy the cypress lake, which is where the park is. check out their web site, gardens.com. you can probably go to a snorkeling shop and get a lesson, but the most important thing to do in Florida, is relax by the beach!
