Tight budget date ideas

beach date

Hello CupidFish! What’s a good first date with a tight budget? I don’t want to do the first date  coffee house thing because it’s not original and a bit boring. Plus, it’s summer and she is an avid outdoors women, so I’m not so sure she even drinks coffee, anyway. Anyone have ideas to suggest? I was thinking a small picnic on the beach, but this might be to serious for a first date? I would like to do something fun and original, but I guess I am a bit nervous because I can not think of anything.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Should I focus on fishing one type?

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

fishing equipmentTime to chip in and ask a question? Should I just focus on fishing one type of fish? Because my fishing techniques and equipment is so scattered. I mean, after you spend the money on fishing equipment for catfish, carp, panfish, and bass my wallet is hurting. I like to fish for them all and depending on the season your choices will get narrow, but I think it’s time to take it down to  one species and target it more frequently? I have to do something. I guess and can still go about with fishing for those but bass, catfish, carp, and panfish all need separate gear.  Now if  I just focus on bass fishing alone I would still just have a little over a dozen or so reels/rods. I could sale some of my other fishing supplies/equipment and could earn profit.

Just wanted to see what you anglers out their think I should do? David

Dating women with kids

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

Dating women with kidsHello! Thought I would give a shot to my first post. I met a nice women a few months back and she has to kids. Ones an infant girl and the other is a 11 year old boy. I started to notice the boy is a turning into a mommas boy a lot and wanted to get him involved in outdoor activities. I’m wanting to do more with both and get outdoors, like camping and fishing, that all boys would like and he is showing signs he’d love to go. The problem is the “mom” is over protective and to some extent a little untrustworthy of me and my ability to handle him? I have already done a few thing with him like take him to the show, outdoor stores, and fast-food runs.  There has never been the slightest problem and it’s could be categorized as “fun”. Although, I did take him with for a quick trail ride and he loved it! So my question is how do I approach this intelligently? Do I just need to just wait because I really enjoy being with the kids. But its summer and out of school and I have a couple weeks off so it seems like a waste of time to just be sitting at the house watching them. Any ideas?

Thanks all how answer,

Darren

Keeping your dating profile online?

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

So I met a up with a lady for coffee and we  talked an hour and things went great. She was honest and looked good and knows a lot about fishing boats. I mean a lot and was impressed with her knowledge. So I asked her out again and we are going to do some crappie jiggin this weekend.  She said yes, but she wants to take it real slow. I agreed with her but come-on guys/gals this is dating, I have some questions.

Guys: Would you continue to keep your profile online and keep meeting ladies?

Ladies: Would you do the same thing and keep meeting guys?

Thanks

Arkansas lake property laws

Monday, July 26th, 2010
arkansas lake propertyArkansas lake property laws:
Hey all had a question for some of the Southern anglers on this site and thought this would be a good place to ask. I run a descend online business and can live anywhere and want to move from California because it’s just too expensive to live here. I am an avid angler and more of a bass fisherman or freshwater angler then ocean fishing. Anyway, I’ve been looking online and the standard of living in the south and home prices are just unbelievably good compared to southern California. BUT I can’t decide whether to settle down in Arkansas or Alabama, both have great fishing lakes and a very affordable lifestyle. I want to build a custom house on a lake. A friend said that in Alabama, any property you own on a lake is private property. In short, people can’t fish on your property or trespass, but the law is different in places like Mississippi. In MS, people can supposedly fish from your backyard into the lake, that kind of thing. A law regarding “right of way” or something like that. Does anyone know the law in Arkansas in regard to this?
Thanks Alex in Socal!

Can I sell my fish?

selling fish

Might be a dumb question but can I sell the fish I catch? I just have a fishing permit bought at Wal-Mart. I’ve been fishing hard and always catch myself giving fish away. I’ve been reeling in some huge Crappie and been offered money for my catch, but is this illegal?…or would I get a fine?  If it was possible it sure would be nice to get some extra cash to cover my costs for MORE fishing! Anyway, I fish in Arkansas and thanks for any replies. Scotty

Single mom camping advice

Friday, July 23rd, 2010
mom campingHello CupidFish. I am single mom and I would like to take my two early teen daughters camping. I want them to “unplug” from the world for a weekend here in Arkansas and enjoy the outdoors and possible teach them to crappie fish like my father did. It’s a still a bit warm but here is my question/problem. I am not as familiar with the camping as I use to be, and I need as much advice as you can give. Where, when the best time of year to go, what sort of things I would need to bring. I know of course the basics of a tent and sleeping bags and stuff but I don’t know what else we would really need. I know it’s the middle of summer since it is hot here but I would also like to go fishing and don’t know if we can catch anything. I know it sounds stupid, but I am really just trying to make some memorable moments for my girls.
In short, I just need some basics.Thanks- Eileen

Fishing on a first date?

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

I met someone nice and being an avid angler. He also loves to fish and I do and do you think it would be odd to ask him to go fishing on a first date? The weather is perfect for fishing and I think it would be a great first date. What do you all think?

Women fishing NOT bad luck

Sunday, July 11th, 2010

women fishing

Women fishing NOT bad luck. I just don’t get it because everytime I go fishing other fishermen stare me like I don’t belong there. I feel like I’m being judged for being a woman on the water and not for my fishing skills. Why do men not seem to appreciate a woman trying her hand at fishing? I’ve asked a few anglers and their reasoning is..women are bad luck!

My Outdoor fishing date

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

hottie bass fishing

Thought I’d check in and update a few on my second date idea. So as you know I met a guy here on CupidFish and he took me out for a nice lunch and then a great walk. He works a lot and likes bass fishing as much as I do and so now it’s my choice for the second date.  So my plan is to go fishing and make a fire and fish and watch the stars but its so damn hot! Anyway, he does work a lot and mentioned a few times he has not got out all that much to do some fishing and his free time he is spending with me;-) Anyway, my question is do you think it is too soon for a camp/fishing trip?

Thanks Eileen
