My father is in the market to buy a used bass boat for fishing. It is truly unbelievable or nuts how expensive a new tournament style bass boat are and why it’s best to look for a used one. My father is leaning towards a Nitro bass boat, but wanted to get as many opinions as possible before he makes the next step. He is not Internet friendly so I thought to post a question here. He likes bass fishing and would like the fish/ski option. So he can still take the grand-kids out tubing/ water skiing when they are around. But, for us, the trolling motor and maneuverability is a great thing and the ability to dock in very shallow water. In short, a good all-around boat that can work for more than one thing as the budget does not allow one for each. I don’t think it’s a bad thing. We all love to fish too.

Hello all, thought I’d post a slight problem I am having with my bass boat live well and see if any other bass fishermen or women could help me? I bought a used bass boat (second owner) and having problems figuring out the correct way to fill up the live well. I usually just turn on the freshwater switch (on manual) to fill the live-well slowly and other times it just will fills up on its own? My freshwater switch works on recirculate only not manual and when I’m ready to drain the live-well have to turn off the main fuel switch and it usually drains and to top it all off, the speedometer doesn’t work at all. Any suggestions to try and re solve these problems without taking it to a dealer? I am also looking for a original manual for this boat it’s a 1992 nitro bass boat 150 evinrude high performance. I thank you very much for any information that you can provide. Thanks again,
Gus in Georgia.

Quick question for houseboat owners or renters. I get my kids for 2 months and was thinking about renting a houseboat for a a week or two. It would be for and my two children that are 14-17 (boys). Also, my sister and her husband and their two children (12-13) to split the costs. So my question is what should I be looking for when I rent a houseboat? Any special amenities? Do the Companies that rent houseboats let you tow a fishing boat or jet-skis with the boat? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

My first fishing boat advice. I’ve been looking at fishing boats and this will be my first boat. I’ve looked at used boats as well as new boats and just can’t believe the price for used boats it is ridiculous and new boats are just way to expensive. I am a big guy so stability is a must, plus I will be using the boat for fishing tournaments and will need it to be as comfortable as possible. The boat will be use to fish cypress lakes, (Mississippi) rivers, and possibly big water lakes. I have been leaning towards a fiberglass boat, but I question the strength/durability because the cypress lakes and rivers, are full of stumps. I looked at used but see no point in buying a 5 year old boat, when I can buy a brand new one and know everything that has ever happened to that particular boat for just a few more thousand dollars. Help please, aluminum or fiberglass? motor size? boat size? fish-ability? comfortably?
Doug

Is there a reasonably priced saltwater fishing boat? Hello cupidfish boat owners I am trying to find a good saltwater fishing boat like a Boston Whaler, but possibly cheaper? I am looking for something with a center console boat that is a good fishing boat to fit at least 4-6 people and is 19-27 feet long and is in the price range of $10,000-$15,000 dollars. I am dreaming or do you think it’s possible to fins something reasonably new and in good shape? I just can’t afford a Boston Whaler and know that there are the best boat for this but as mentioned, they are way out of my price range.

Tired of cheap sunglasses and eye strain when fishing on my boat. So I am shopping around for a really good pair of sunglasses for fishing but more so, for my fishing boat and just riding around. My budget is $200 and heard that Costa Del Mars are pretty good? Any Anglers here suggest any brands that are similar to Costa Del Mars or that might be better?
Thanks,
John in Florida

Alright here is what I have cooking or my idea. I have a 14′ aluminum fishing boat and my problem is, it has three bench style seats. I would like to remove these “benches” and put in a plywood floor, then mount seats on posts, add a live-well, and possibly a bin or two. I have absolutely no idea how or if this is even possible. ANY help at all will be appreciated. Websites would be awesome, or if you’ve done something like this and don’t mind getting a million questioning emails, leave your address! Thanks so much, and tight lines this summer!- Jerry

Hey all, I got a nice tax return check and looking for a nice Champion Bass Boat to buy and my budget is $17k or so. A nice used one would be best im sure and I would also like a mercury motor and a single console if possible. Any direction anyone at cupidfish would suggest to start looking? Also, this is going to be my first fishing boat.

Hello all I am new here and had a question or recommendation for my first boat. I like to bass fish, but I’d also like to have a boat that can be used for wakeboarding/skiing. As mentioned, I don’t know much about boats, but would like to get into it if I were to get a boat for fishing. What’s a good type/model to look into??
