One lure for saltwater and freshwater
Monday, June 14th, 2010Quick question for some fishing pro’s. I am new to fishing and wanted to know what is the easiest lure for a beginner that you can actually catch fish on? Is there such a think and as a single saltwater and freshwater lure that works well, in both shallow water and open, weedless areas? Casting is from a dock, without the use of a boat and lake is low near the dock, with lots of weedy areas, but mostly weedless where it does get slightly deeper, a good long cast out. Sorry for the complications, but thanks, in advance, for any help. Central Florida area.

Florida panhandle fishing help
Tuesday, June 8th, 2010Hello, any Florida fisherman here? I’ve been Saltwater fishing in the sound at the Florida panhandle and needed some advice on what fish are running this time of year. I have been fishing out there for a couple nights now on a pier and all I have been catching is catfish and that’s been about it.I’ve been using live bait/ cut bait/ dead shrimp/ and squid. Also, does anyone know what bait would be good to use the time to use it and the tide to use it in. Any help/Tips would be appreciated- Bill in Florida
Florida fishing lures (Tampa Bay)
Monday, May 17th, 2010Well, it looks like I am will be hosting my father for the summer and I would like to buy a few nice lures to inspire my father to get out of the house and do some fishing. Where I live there are many inlets and bays around (Tampa) and this being Florida great fishing. I’m looking for good all-around fishing lure advice. I want to start with freshwater (what I’m familiar with) so I have ideas of what will work, but I would like advice on what works best. Interested in buying a well-rounded set so he can try a variety of different situations? Plus, if you know of any good spots around Bradenton Beach or Sarasota Bay that would be helpful. We don’t have the proper equipment to travel far off-shore, so we tend to stay close to shore. Thanks- Liz
Your favorite beer when fishing
Sunday, May 9th, 2010What is your favorite beer when you go fishing? Due to being on a budget I normally reach for a bud or miller when I go fishing, but also don’t mind some corona, Heineken, wild blue, or Mississippi mud. This makes fishing very relaxing, so I don’t care if i catch something or not. I am down here in Florida, where cold beer don’t last long without ice lol! So what’s your favorite and why?
Florida fish in season (cook)
Wednesday, May 5th, 2010Hey CupidFish Florida anglers. I got a quick question and that is, I’ll be heading down to Panama City, Florida to visit my parents and I am an avid seafood and fish cook. I’m from Wisconsin, so I’m not particularly familiar with the seasonality of the local fish, and they’re not sure either. What’s good right now if you’re cooking in Florida?I know that Red Snapper, Grouper, Flounder, and Tilapia are eaten around here, but I’m not so sure what the good times to Fish/buy/catch them down in Florida this time of year. Thanks much!
Charter boat fishing in the Florida Keys?
Monday, April 26th, 2010
So me and some friends are heading down to the Keys Florida in June. We will be on a student budget and don’t have a lot of money to spend, but we do intend to enjoy ourselves to the fullest. We are all very big on fishing and I was wondering do you have to get a charter boat to go fishing? Because, I looked into it and they are too expensive, This may sound so dumb, but can they just bring their own rods and just fish on the beach. Does anyone know of a cheap place where they can rent a boat of their own maybe, or maybe a cheap charter boat? I know that may sound silly, but if there is tell me? also tell me of any great places to go or things to do. We already booked our snorkeling trip, but is there anything else? Also do they need a license to fish on the beach?
Thanks Elle
Is there crab fishing in Florida?
Thursday, April 22nd, 2010
I went to Puerto Rico last year and had a blast crab fishing. We used crab traps and caught and cooked a bucket full and it was delicious. I want to try crabbing in Florida and looking for some good crab fishing spots in Central WC Florida where it is possible to set traps close to shore or (if legal) off a pier or bridge with triangular crab traps?? Thanks

Monday, March 8th, 2010My boys and I will be heading down to Orlando, FL in the next 2 weeks for early Spring break and would like to spend a couple days fishing. The only charter company I can find is Super Queen. Is there any other recommendations on boat company’s I can look into in the Orlando area?
