Pontoon or kayak for fishing
Thursday, April 1st, 2010I just can’t decide and I am looking to ether buy a kayak or pontoon for fly fishing. I am not certain that a kayak will have the comfort for a full day of fishing like a pontoon. I absolutely love float tubes as they are very relaxing and I can enjoy the fishing experience all day.
Which type of fishing do you prefer, pontoon for kayak and why? Thanks in advance, Dave in Utah
Trout flyfishing-Flyrod advice
Thursday, April 1st, 2010My boyfriend is an avid angler, and he just lost his fly-rod! He never stops talking about it as if he lost a child. Anyway, since he does do a lot of fishing, I thought this would be a nice time to give him an upgrade from his “walmart” purchased fly-rod. I got my tax return money and thought I’d buy him the best fly fishing rod/reel to for trout fly-fishing?
Thanks in advance CupidFish -DeeDee
Left handed Fly fishing advice
Tuesday, March 9th, 2010
Hello all, thought I’d check in with my small problem. Well I’ve always been a (spinner) trout angler and I want to learn to fly fish but I don’t really know anyone who does, so I’m curious what it entails and how expensive a decent fly fishing pole would be? Also, I have a regular fishing pole I bought from my old roommate as he never used it. It is a shakespeare ugly stick and someone said it could easily be a lefty if the real is switched to the other side? Is this even possible?
Thanks much,
Greg
Will a fly fishing shop buy Flies
Thursday, February 25th, 2010I truly like to tie and wanted to and possibly sell some online or to various fly shops. Will I be able to do this without a business license even if the sells are small and under let’s say $5k a year? It’s not so much about making money, but to be able to tie flies.
Thanks Derrick
Newbie rod for fly fishing?
Wednesday, February 24th, 2010
I’ve been fishing for years and been angling a spinner for years, and it’s no time for fly fishing. I live in the Pacific Northwest and was looking for a rod and reel combo to catch bass, trout, and occasionally pinks and steelies. I have my eye on a Redington RS4 outfit, but was unsure what size tippet to get (1x or 5x) and what size reel to get with the combo. I am new to fly-fishing and was wondering how I should go about purchasing my combo and what works best. Any answers help. thanks.

Oregon Fly Fishing
Monday, February 1st, 2010
Hey Oregon fly anglers! I am having family in town at the end of march and wonder what areas would be the best that time of year for trout fly fishing. We want to do some camping and fishing so someplace that offers good fishing and camping areas. Yes, I know a bit cold then but it will insure them not coming back every year!

Is fly fishing really that hard?
Tuesday, January 26th, 2010A good fly fishing gift?
Tuesday, January 26th, 2010It’s my bosses birthday and apparently he’s really really into fly fishing and making his own stuff for it – Can anyone suggest a present that I could get him. I have my own places and buy my gear local and some places online, but I want to shock him with a great thoughtful original idea? Something to impress him because I have a raise review coming up.
