Crappie fishing a new lake
Wednesday, August 4th, 2010
Hello CupidFish. I’ll be heading out this weekend and going to do some crappie fishing on a new lake. So my question is or wondering which day would be best? Let me explain. I will be fishing a well maintained farm pond with clear water and good controlled vegetation. The lakes deepest end is 24 feet and the lake is a bit over 5 acres. There is a good number of Channel Cats that are 10 pounds or greater, Large mouth bass, Green Sun Fish, Blue Gill, and Black Crappie. Saturday the forecast is going to be cloudy with winds up to 25-30 with tempature is 85 with a low of 65. Sunday might be stormy with 40% chance of scattered thunderstorms with winds up to 17 miles an hour. It will be 72 as the high and 60 the low. So my question is what day would be best to fish?

Florida fishing lures (Tampa Bay)
Monday, May 17th, 2010Well, it looks like I am will be hosting my father for the summer and I would like to buy a few nice lures to inspire my father to get out of the house and do some fishing. Where I live there are many inlets and bays around (Tampa) and this being Florida great fishing. I’m looking for good all-around fishing lure advice. I want to start with freshwater (what I’m familiar with) so I have ideas of what will work, but I would like advice on what works best. Interested in buying a well-rounded set so he can try a variety of different situations? Plus, if you know of any good spots around Bradenton Beach or Sarasota Bay that would be helpful. We don’t have the proper equipment to travel far off-shore, so we tend to stay close to shore. Thanks- Liz
Freshwater or saltwater fishing debate
Monday, May 17th, 2010So here we go, freshwater or saltwater fishing debate. What do you prefer of is freshwater fishing better then saltwater fishing? It seems like most people here like the freshwater fishing and bass fishing, but I personally like the saltwater fishing because you can catch a much larger variety of different kinds of fish to any size. Although, I do love redfish, black drum, flounder, specs, snapper, and jacks. I have never been a big bass fishing fan and to me I find it more exciting/challenging catching giant fish. What do you prefer and why?

Saltwater angler going freshwater
Tuesday, April 27th, 2010Hello all, thought i’d join and then ask a question about freshwater fishing. I’ve been a saltwater angler for 25 years and want to start freshwater fishing. My question is instead of going out and buying new gear will surf fishing rods, reels, and lures work for freshwater fishing? If not, what kind of equipment will I need to get for perch, walleye, trout, bass, crappie, catfish, etc. – Thanks Al in Georgia.
Making your own freshwater fishing lures
Saturday, March 20th, 2010Hello all I am Matt from Michigan and had a question about Making your own freshwater fishing lures. I mainly fish for bass, walleye, anything you can find in a southeast Michigan lake, it is a pretty big size lake, I usually fish in the 5-8 foot waters, but sometimes i take a boat out to the drop off. Anyways, where can I go to get information about starting to make my own freshwater fishing lures?
Thanks
Tired of winter and want to start fishing.
Sunday, January 17th, 2010I am really pumped and have cabin fever and want to start fishing again, but I live in PNW and it just too cold to even shore fish. I don’t ice fish and that can be dangerous here. I have never started fishing before the middle of the summer and I was wondering when I would be able to start fishing and still catch lots of fish? Generally I fish freshwater for bass, trout, stealhead, sunfish, sometimes catfish in small ponds if that helps.
Thanks for letting me vent,
Mike in WA

Crappie fishing in November?
Friday, October 9th, 2009I’ve been working double shifts all summer and will until the end of late October. I did not get to fish all summer and it’s looking the same for fall. So, is it possible to crappie fish in winter? It’s not cold enough here for the lakes to freeze, but wanted to know what jigs, bait to use. Some winter non-icefishing tactics for catching crappie . I will be fishing in an over flown creek, its depth ranges from 2 inches – 5 feet in clear water, what baits to use to catch any fish? Any advice sure would help.
Regards,
Alex

The moon affect fishing for salmon in a river?
Thursday, August 13th, 2009I’m fishing in Washington on the West Coast in the (nisqually river) to be exact. I was wondering how the tides affect fishing? What tides I need to fish. Why to fish these tides? Basically I need to learn the low down on these factors or if they even matter. I need as much detail as possible to understand this. I am also fishing for Chinooks and cohos (kings and silvers) if that maters. Just want to get the best tips possible if you could please.
Tight Lines,
Mike
