Fishing line for Lake Michigan

Friday, September 24th, 2010
New member here with a first new post about fishing line. Looking for info on fishing line for my rod shore fish setup. I’ve been fishing the lake shore and rivers daily this summer fish on a river about everyday. I’ll be heading to Lake Michigan, fishing off the shore and hoping to land anything big. The only question I have. What type of fishing line is best used to catch those big fish in the lake?

Toledo Bend TX Lake fishing?

Saturday, September 4th, 2010
Hey all hope you all are having a nice holiday weekend. I’m stuck at work here in Tyler Tx and have this coming week off. I just got a call from my uncle who wants me to come down and check out his new cabin he bought on Toledo bend lake  (Texas side) a few months ago. I am planning on heading down there on Tuesday to get some fishing done. My Uncle is is new to the area (not much a fisherman) and says he doesn’t know what to fish for this time of year. Advice suggestion?

I was wondering if I should buy some glow-sticks. I am also bringing watermelon trick worms and was wondering if i should use something different for night? I figured that darker worms for night and light for day, but any other tips you want to cast my way?.. feel free to throw some ideas at me for bait/tactics. Thanks in Advance-JD in Ga.

Finding a good fishing spot?

Thursday, June 17th, 2010
Hello all I live in central, CA and my father and I are scouting for a good fishing spot to fish and camp for few days this month. I’ve scouted for a few places that is not too far up the Sierra Nevada mountains, but far enough to get away from the mass migration of California anglers? Is it possible to be in the middle of the woods or on a lake/river and fish for a few days. If you are familiar with the sierra Nevada mountains and want to point me in a directions, please give some advice. Thank you in Advance- Dave Cohen

Bass Fishing in lily pads

Sunday, May 16th, 2010
Hey all I am from Texas and thought I’d join and check things out here at cupidfish and ask a question now that my home lake will become overgrown in many areas with thick lily pads and hydrilla and is some what of a problem for me every year. The lake I am fishing is a power plant lake, and summer is my hardest time to fish it because my fish finder can’t  see deep structure. Because the lily pads seem my best bet. Could some one please help me figure out a good method to fish these seemingly impenetrable lily pads, but I know there are fish in them. What would you recommend, and do you have any other tips for this lake during summer? It only has two docks, and it is characterized by tons of stumps and its a fairly small 2,500 acre lake if that helps. -Regards, Rich in TX

Lake fishing bass Tips needed

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010
It’s been ages since the last time I went lake fishing or fishing on lakes/ponds. I’ve been hitting  Saltwater hard for the last 25 years here on the EastCoast. Now I’d like to slow things down a bit because it’s just too damn expensive to run a boat in the ocean for me. So I thought id give bass-fishing a try and just wanted some tips on large or small mouth bass fishing or any type of lake fish, tips on what type of artificial bait or real bait i can use to catch these fish and a good recommended fishing line I can add to my rod (uglystik) I don’t own a freshwater boat and that’s how most people catch their fish because they go in the middle of lake and fish so will that be a problem?? please help me to get started
Thanks in Advance Danny in CT

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010
You hear about it often for those people who know how to fish, as I do and see. Never the less, I can’t figure out what “this” Crappie fishing secret, you know the one that’s banned in two states. What is it exactly? Anyone care to share?

Friday, January 29th, 2010
I do not use or have  sonar so its hard to find the rock-piles, ruts, or heavy timber is.  It’s a new area and lake for me so my question is what lure would you suggest to start with?
