Newbie looking for advice on how to rigup or how to power a trolling motor? I bought a trolling motor for my Jon-boat because gas powered engines are bot permitted on the lake I live on. I bought my motor off the Internet for $100 and some change. My question — do I need to buy a separate battery, or should the battery of been included in the trolling motor housing? I also see recharges – do those connect to battery terminals on the trolling motor, or is the battery a separate item?
Thanks!
Mike

New member here with a first new post about fishing line. Looking for info on fishing line for my rod shore fish setup. I’ve been fishing the lake shore and rivers daily this summer fish on a river about everyday. I’ll be heading to Lake Michigan, fishing off the shore and hoping to land anything big. The only question I have. What type of fishing line is best used to catch those big fish in the lake?

Hello all! I am new here and joined because I like being outdoors anytime of year and like camping, fishing, hunting, and Bon fires etc. I would like to meet a nice country girl that enjoys herself in the woods. I just don’t understand city women who want to shop all day and have low morals and does not like the outdoors. It would be great to find a women here on cupidfish that are into all things outdoors and don’t mind getting dirty.

A good ladies rod reel setup? I am in the market to purchase a fishing rod & reel new or used, I need some help. I am starting out and want to get my own fishing equipment because this summer I used friends and family and I got to like fishing a lot. I have no idea where to start or what to buy! I am smaller then average woman, only 5 feet tall. I shore fish ocean, rivers, and lakes. My budget is around a $100 for both rod and reel being new and all to fishing I want to practice and learn on used or cheaper fishing gear before I go out and spend a lot of money of good quality gear. This does not mean I want to buy cheap fishing gear that does not last. As mentioned, I am a beginner when it comes to fishing but I do have some experience. I will be fishing for catfish, redfish, black drum, trout, ect. I am fishing in the Houston area. I would like a rod/reel big enough to handle a 20-30 lbs line. Is the Ugly stick my best bet?

I have had this custom rod for all of a month now and my bonehead fishing bud stepped on it and bent the eye and it’s out of place. I would like to get it back to normal and thought possibly fixing it myself with a pair of pliers, but I don’t want to snap it and have to pay a ton of money getting it professionally fixed. It’s the piece connecting the eye to the rod.
Suggestions?
Ron

Hello. Needed a bit of advice about fishing knots and looking for (any) good sites that walk you though tying fishing knots or even step by step, but with pictures or video? I am asking because I was taught a long time ago how to tie a knot that was easy and durable. I cant figure out what it was or how to do it to save my life for a fishing noodle that will have 10+ hooks on it. If any fishermen her could point me to a link or provide detailed information or a name of a easy knot for this thanks.- Robert

So-I finally built up the courage to asked this beautiful women out on a date. I’ve known her for three months and we’ve always been friendly at work. Honestly, I’m not positive if she knows that I like to be more then “just friends” because I am not- I just want to be friends type of guy. It’s kind of like always being in a state om limbo. Anyway, after work I was walking her to her car and I made her laugh about a stupid new work policy and she got a smile and then I quickly mentioned, you are so beautiful when you smile. She seemed flattered and said that’s really sweet and then had a huge smile. This was the perfect opportunity: you know, you’re really a great women and I think that you’re an truly a caring person, but I have to ask: I grown over the months to like you and your positive personality and was wondering if you would like to get together sometime and go out for coffee or something.” She seemed a bit taken back, so I said “I don’t need an answer right now, maybe just think about it and the invitation is always open. If you want to that’d be really awesome, but if not that’s okay too. It’s just that I think you’re a great person and I’d feel foolish to let something that could be wonderful slip away.” Everything that I said was true too-we are friends and get along great! I would love to take her out and see if anything can happen, but if she only wants to be friends I would be okay with that I guess. Do you think that I did alright? Also too, for our first date I’ve kinda think the coffee is a bit boring and want to get her in the outdoors for a picnic and fishing type fun before the weather turns.. what do you think?

Your best catfish bait? I will be relocating to Eest Texas (Tyler) soon and I like to fish at night and was wondering what bait I should use or if here is a preferred bait for that area. I fish all kinds of cats and like yellow cats the best and I’ll be shore fishing and NOT trot-lining. Also, any Texas cat fishermen here want to clue me in on fishing at night?

Shallow creek bass fishing advice needed. I found a great creek with lot’s of shade trees and unfortunately, a lot of bait-fish ie., minnows. Any suggestions or advice on alternative baits to catch these largemouth bass? The creek is clear and I have seen some 4lber bass in there so I’d like to know if there is an easier method because they are NOT biting live bait.
