Arkansas lake property laws:Hey all had a question for some of the Southern anglers on this site and thought this would be a good place to ask. I run a descend online business and can live anywhere and want to move from California because it’s just too expensive to live here. I am an avid angler and more of a bass fisherman or freshwater angler then ocean fishing. Anyway, I’ve been looking online and the standard of living in the south and home prices are just unbelievably good compared to southern California. BUT I can’t decide whether to settle down in Arkansas or Alabama, both have great fishing lakes and a very affordable lifestyle. I want to build a custom house on a lake. A friend said that in Alabama, any property you own on a lake is private property. In short, people can’t fish on your property or trespass, but the law is different in places like Mississippi. In MS, people can supposedly fish from your backyard into the lake, that kind of thing. A law regarding “right of way” or something like that. Does anyone know the law in Arkansas in regard to this?
Thanks Alex in Socal!
Gold Penn rod and reels?
Thursday, July 1st, 2010
Hey all thought i’d ask a question here penn rods and reels. You see my grandfather used to do a lot of offshore fishing in Florida and he has 5 or 6 Penn rod and reels (gold) in very good condition considering (20 yrs ago) their age. My grandfather was a clean and neat freak because he was also in the military for 25 years. Anyway, they have been stored extremely well and my grandfather obsessed over them and took great care of them. I am a bass fisherman and don’t even live close to the ocean and I would like to sell them, but I have no idea what they are worth. Any help is greatly appreciated. Such as how do I find out what they are worth, who would I contact about selling them – that sort of thing. thanks! Larry, in Arkansas…
Whats the big deal about bass fishing
Thursday, April 8th, 2010
Whats the big deal about bass fishing and why is bass fishing so popular? Could it be they’re easy to catch? I’m not a bass fisherman, but I’ve actually caught of 30 this Spring not even trying for them. They do, however, put up a good fight but taste horrible. When I go fishing for bluegill, I catch bass. I go fishing for crappie, I catch bass. Walleye fishing , bass again. This spring in Minnesota was trolling with an 8″ crank bait, first fish I caught was a 10″ bass!
Bait was as long as the fish! Every fishing show on tv is bass fishing. I don’t get it.
Not putting bass fisherman down at all, you guys have the nicest looking boats! Also, trolling with a spoon or hot n tot for Steelhead, bass again! – JD in MN

Catfishing and sea bass?
Tuesday, October 20th, 2009Was thinking about packing up my gear for the winter and just wanted a quick simple answer. All I need to know is if catfish and sea bass are out in winter. Or worth a try to get after them?
Thanks
Thanks

What ratio of reel should I use for trout fishing in WV in April?

Never been trout fishing, always been a crappie and bass fisherman. If someone has some different choices of trout bait that would work I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
