Hello all I am new here and had a question or recommendation for my first boat. I like to bass fish, but I’d also like to have a boat that can be used for wakeboarding/skiing. As mentioned, I don’t know much about boats, but would like to get into it if I were to get a boat for fishing. What’s a good type/model to look into??
Regards,- Mark Colby

Morning all! I’ll be heading out to my local lake (Beaver lake Arkansas) and will be fishing for stripers in the morning after services and needed some general tips on where/how to scout out a good places to catch stripers. I don’t have a boat (yet) and wonder if I should go for other fish instead? So my question, is the Striper Bass Biting/ Catching good from the shoreline or riverbank or lake, etc..?
Thanks Johnny in AR

The best bass fishing jig debate goes on! So in your opinion cupidfish members who makes the best bass fishing jigs out there? There are so many competitors out on the market today, who would you say makes the best jigs in your experiences? Also, what kind of trailer, if any, do you most frequently use?
Billy in AL
P.S. I am trying to buy my first few jigs and any help would be appreciated.

What to look for shore fishing? I’ve always been interested in mainly fishing from the shore. But I just can’t figure out when are the best times and lure/baits to use because some days I catch a lot of fish and others nothing what so ever. How do I avoid snags, I’ve used the snag free lures and weedless lures but I don’t have much luck with them.
All I’ve been seeming to catch this year have been 25″ + Northerns! Which isn’t that bad except for the destruction of my lures. And the ever so lovely line snap. I guess I prefer to catch bass primarily. I’ve caught a few but, small, but I a’m just not set up for pike. I need a stronger pole and set up that will work up here in Rochester NY.
Thanks- Anthony

Hello all I am Matt from Michigan and had a question about Making your own freshwater fishing lures. I mainly fish for bass, walleye, anything you can find in a southeast Michigan lake, it is a pretty big size lake, I usually fish in the 5-8 foot waters, but sometimes i take a boat out to the drop off. Anyways, where can I go to get information about starting to make my own freshwater fishing lures?
Thanks

Morning all I live in Illinois. A group from work and me are go fishing every year in the spring, heading down south. Over the last few years we’ve been going to Arkansas and caught some nice fish but are looking to head somewhere different this spring. How’s the Bass fishing in Oklahoma? We are just looking for a couple decent sized lakes to look into for a week long trip or so. Thanks for any info!

I also want to ask a question about wanting to buy a bass boat. There are a lot of pros on some of the choices I am am looking at, but the cons are would a bay boat be better suited for my needs?. I’ll be fishing in salt/brackish water during the summer, but the rest of the year I’ll be will be bass fishing in lakes, etc. What should I do or better yet, anyone here on CupidFish have a solution on or advice?
Terry

Bass Boats and big engines? We British anglers are amazed and fascinated with American boats and the Bass Boats seems to be like a rocket ship more then an aid to catching bass. When we go fishing in the UK we like to sneak up on the fish, but those boat motors would scare the fish away here? How is that possible?
