How far to let your line sink?
Wednesday, June 9th, 2010Thought I’d join and ask a simple question when fishing for largemouth bass, trout, catfish. How many feet do you let the fishing hook go down in the water? If the waters about 15 feet deep and what colors are fish attracted to how to lure them in by the hook? Is it possible catch fish by letting the line just float at the top? Yes, a newbie fishing question
Florida panhandle fishing help
Tuesday, June 8th, 2010Hello, any Florida fisherman here? I’ve been Saltwater fishing in the sound at the Florida panhandle and needed some advice on what fish are running this time of year. I have been fishing out there for a couple nights now on a pier and all I have been catching is catfish and that’s been about it.I’ve been using live bait/ cut bait/ dead shrimp/ and squid. Also, does anyone know what bait would be good to use the time to use it and the tide to use it in. Any help/Tips would be appreciated- Bill in Florida
The easiest method for salmon and trout
Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010The easiest method for salmon and trout and possibly walleye? I am going the Northern most part of Michigan and I’m packing in fishing tackle and we are kind of depending on fish for our 8 day hike. I am an experienced angler and I just want some pointers on inland lake fish. There will be bass, perch, walleye, salmon, trout, catfish and awful carp. What would be the easiest method to fish for walleye and salmon/trout? I want, and I am not sure the best way to go about it. Any info would be freaking sweet. thanks Dave

Your favorite fish to catch?
Tuesday, May 11th, 2010
My favorite is to catch Bass as they are tough fish and brim for sandwiches and a couple of catfish are ok too. My second favorite is hybrid striped bass fishing here in the south. There is a small dam not far from where I live. I tie up near it when its generating. Nothing like fighting in a 10-30lb hybrid! Of course Crappie fishing in the spring is a blast too! So what’s your favorite fish to catch?- Mike in Arkansas
Fishing rods and reels suggestions
Friday, April 16th, 2010Afternoon, I need some suggestions on good fishing rods and reels for small to medium game freshwater trout, catfish, bass, striper, etc. I have been using my brothers rod & reel the last few times I have gone and would like to have my own. Starting to get that “you need your own” gear look! My budget is around $200. Any suggestions on brand/model? Thanks much, Dell

It’s become obvious that if its going to happen, I’m going to have to put it together. I am an the avid angler, but I mostly does surf fishing. We are going to lake Corsica in Texas have local lakes down there that are stocked with catfish, white bass, bluegill. We have rods, but what other equipment should I get? (floats, weights, etc?)

Cat fishing Massachusetts reservoir
Sunday, March 7th, 2010Evening Cupidfish members. Alright, here is my situation, I’ve caught plenty of catfish, all at night, but problem is, there is a reservoir in near my house which is controlled by the state of Massachusetts. It is governed by strict rules, one of which is the reservoir is open only from 1 hour after dawn til 1 hour before dusk. I could probably get away with just going there and fishing at night, but in the off chance I get caught I really don’t feel like paying the fine(s). Are there any special patterns , baits, and depths that catfish use during the day?
Thanks,
KC
