Corpus Christi Fishing advice
Saturday, June 19th, 2010
Hey all I was looking for some Corpus Christi Fishing advice. I’ll be fishing the Corpus Christi on (Bob Hall) Pier and possibly do a little surf fishing. Any Texas anglers care to share some advice/tips on how to catch a lot of good, sizable fish? Are shrimp and squid good for bait? Also, what are the regulations for catching and keeping shark in Texas? And are there any tips on how to set up my line? Thanks ahead of time and please include extra details? By the way, I see many people using a circular net to pull their fish out of the water from the pier and I just can’t find out what they’re called, got any ideas on what I’m talking about? And has anybody tried the Gulp! Alive artificial crab?- Sorry for so many questions as you can tell I am a bit excited. Will- Dallas TX
Finding a good fishing spot?
Thursday, June 17th, 2010Hello all I live in central, CA and my father and I are scouting for a good fishing spot to fish and camp for few days this month. I’ve scouted for a few places that is not too far up the Sierra Nevada mountains, but far enough to get away from the mass migration of California anglers? Is it possible to be in the middle of the woods or on a lake/river and fish for a few days. If you are familiar with the sierra Nevada mountains and want to point me in a directions, please give some advice. Thank you in Advance- Dave Cohen

How far to let your line sink?
Wednesday, June 9th, 2010Thought I’d join and ask a simple question when fishing for largemouth bass, trout, catfish. How many feet do you let the fishing hook go down in the water? If the waters about 15 feet deep and what colors are fish attracted to how to lure them in by the hook? Is it possible catch fish by letting the line just float at the top? Yes, a newbie fishing question
Thanks, -Jeff
Crappie Fishing tips needed
Saturday, May 29th, 2010
Hey all thought i’d ask a question and need some crappie fishing tips. So what is the best method when fishing crappies in shallow murky (really murky) water for crappies and were is the best place to fish for them? Also, what other good fish are good to fish for in that type of water? I’ve been dealing with a lot of carp and bullheads and other nuisance/trash fish like that. Thanks- Larry in Memphis TN
I can be a professional angler
Saturday, May 29th, 2010
I really think I can be a professional angler. I believe I’m a knowledgeable freshwater fisherman and want to locate a sponsor. My idol in the fishing world is Hank Parker and Bill Dance. Anyone have a lead or tips? I would love to find a sponsor that will put me in a boat and let me represent them in the freshwater tournament fishing world. A dream come true for me. Any advice on getting my first sponsor?

My first shore/surf rod reel?
Monday, May 24th, 2010
Hey all, another new member here and thought i’d also ask a question. I live on the south shore of Long Island and always go to the beach and I like to fish as-well, just have never gone shore/beach fishing. I already have an ideas for a rod 10/12 foot. Here’s the thing, I have heard mixed reviews on which are better for surf/casting. Either conventional reel or spinning reel. If I were to go with the spinning I would probably get the Black and gold Daiwa. I don’t really know my conventional. I am no newbie to fishing in general but to Surf/shore fishing I am and will be fishing for: Stripers, bluefish, weak fish, fluke, flounder, sea robins =\ a bunch more too. This will be my first shore/surf rod reel? Thanks-Anthony
Your favorite catfish setup and bait
Sunday, May 23rd, 2010I want to get out and go for catching catfish in a lake near my house and was wondering if anyone had any advice for catching catfish (new to catfishing), bait, type of hook, line setup etc. Also, I have seen people use different baits but the most common bait that i see work is dough bait, but the only problem is there are so many different kinds of recipes. if you have a recipe that you have tried and works I would love to try it also. In short, something simple. So whats your favorite catfish setup and or bait?

Canadian Fishing Trip joke
Thursday, May 20th, 2010A Canadian Fishing Trip joke: Honey, I have been asked by my boss to go along on a Canadian fishing trip. We’ll be gone for a week, a good opportunity to help me get that promotion. Please pack my clothes, rod and reel, tackle box, and my new silk pajamas. I’ll pick them up later in the day.” His wife thought something sounded fishy, but did as he asked. A week later, he came home. His wife welcomed him and asked him if he caught any fish. “Sure did. Lots of walleye, several pike. But why didn’t you pack my silk pajamas?”His wife replied. “I did. They were in your tackle box.”
The carolina rig or texas rig
Wednesday, May 19th, 2010
What is your favorite way to fishing rig, besides the three most popular rigs: The Texas Rig, The Carolina Rig, and the flipping rig. The Carolina Rig is a bit more complex than the Texas Rig, but if you only had to pick one what would it be?
Thanks-Terry
P.S. Also, what are the advantages of a Carolina rig over a Texas rig.
