How about funny fishing stories? I’ll start a post and you can add yours. Three years ago my bosses took me and my co-workers catfishing on the river with his new fishing boat. The interesting part is my boss did not know, I have fished that river most of my life and grew up yards from where we launched..Anyway, we tied up on the downstream side of a log jam and he began the routine of show and tell on how to rig and bait up. When he went to cast his new rod/reel, it flipped out of his hands and into the current. I couldn’t help myself but to ask, “How do you know when you get a bite”?
He gave me the worse look known to man and my co-workers struggled not to laugh.

Quick question for houseboat owners or renters. I get my kids for 2 months and was thinking about renting a houseboat for a a week or two. It would be for and my two children that are 14-17 (boys). Also, my sister and her husband and their two children (12-13) to split the costs. So my question is what should I be looking for when I rent a houseboat? Any special amenities? Do the Companies that rent houseboats let you tow a fishing boat or jet-skis with the boat? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is there a reasonably priced saltwater fishing boat? Hello cupidfish boat owners I am trying to find a good saltwater fishing boat like a Boston Whaler, but possibly cheaper? I am looking for something with a center console boat that is a good fishing boat to fit at least 4-6 people and is 19-27 feet long and is in the price range of $10,000-$15,000 dollars. I am dreaming or do you think it’s possible to fins something reasonably new and in good shape? I just can’t afford a Boston Whaler and know that there are the best boat for this but as mentioned, they are way out of my price range.

Alright here is what I have cooking or my idea. I have a 14′ aluminum fishing boat and my problem is, it has three bench style seats. I would like to remove these “benches” and put in a plywood floor, then mount seats on posts, add a live-well, and possibly a bin or two. I have absolutely no idea how or if this is even possible. ANY help at all will be appreciated. Websites would be awesome, or if you’ve done something like this and don’t mind getting a million questioning emails, leave your address! Thanks so much, and tight lines this summer!- Jerry

Hello all! I am another member who lives in Florida, and once or twice a year I go deep sea fishing (normally a freshwater angler) in a party boat and most of the time go on boats. Also, what should I be expecting to catch in this weather?
What I’m wondering is, which location is better for this month?
Cape canaveral, or tampa?
Thanks in advance, …TC

A $300k deep-sea boat, an inflatable boat, or something in between. Mine is a 14′ jon boat with 15hp Johnson outboard and a Minn Kota bow mount trolling motor. I have caught so many bass from this rig in area lakes and ponds. It’s as close to perfect as I could wish for. I know it’s not much, but good for the area I am in. What about you?

A week ago I went fishing on a full day boat and all was fine until we started heading back to shore. Then for some odd reason all hell broke loose and I started to feel very lightheaded and dizzy and then got sick and stayed sick. This feeling has been with me every day since that trip and I am still feeling it while typing this info. Is this seasickness carried on for this long? Has anyone been sick this long after a long fishing trip?
Thanks Beth.

Hello all, and I have a simple question for you sea Captains. I`ve been out fishing many a times on some very nice smaller fishing boats and now I want one. I wouldnt know the first thing about driving one. It wouldn’t be going far out to sea, just off the coast the Florida panhandle to fish and was wondering the type of license or training needed? Or where to even start.
Regards,
Jerry

I am going on my first full 3 day fishing trip for with my two boys and was wondering how much to tip the deckhands, cook, etc. I’ve only gone on 1/2 day boats before and don’t know the protocol. If anyone wants to share some advice I am all ears.
