Any members here from California? I grew up (30 years) surf fishing in Florida. I’ve been Surf /shore/ Fishing Southern California now this past year when I moved here. Not knowing the area or fishing techniques I’ve been fishing the same as if I was in Florida. I’ve been fishing my surf rod with drop shot rig and found a open section of beach used shrimp. Nothing! ..not even a bite and it’s well past the frustrated point. So if there are any Southern Cali surf anglers want to give me some advice, like the right type of bait to use and were to cast my rod for California beaches.

Any Florida Anglers? Good camping fishing in Florida? I would like to take my kids on a camp-out in Florida with some some raw wilderness type camping. Is it possible to find a place where I can go to a pond a pull out a fish and cook it at my own fire I set up….where can I go?

I went to Puerto Rico last year and had a blast crab fishing. We used crab traps and caught and cooked a bucket full and it was delicious. I want to try crabbing in Florida and looking for some good crab fishing spots in Central WC Florida where it is possible to set traps close to shore or (if legal) off a pier or bridge with triangular crab traps?? Soon, I am almost outta here and heading to fish in Florida. It is in a freshwater canal near the Miccosukee resort, and I wanted to know which type of bait would be best. Artificial or live, and if live what kind of animal/insect/worm?

Hello all I have a quick question when fishing for bass in south Florida lakes. I can’t catch anything in the lakes and I always get caught in the weeds. As you see I’m a bit new at it so any advice you can flip my way would sure help. Also, what type of rod and reel/ line would you recommend?
