Do you have a lot of fishing lures that have never seen water? I was cleaning my gear and just could not believe how many lures I have that are new and never been out of the house or on the water. After counting them all it was 53 and here I am getting on my kids for wasting money on video games that just sit in a box and not used. So how many lures/gear do you have that has never been used?
Chuck.

Afternoon all. I thought I’d post here because I have read some great answers by some good folks to very difficult questions. I am always on the lookout for rare fishing lures and have built up a good collection over the years trading with friends and family. Currently, I am looking for a lure, it is made by lucky craft, it is small, they come it different sizes/colors, the larger ones are about an inch long, and small one is 3/4 inch. They are a gundrop shape, the package says they are sammy specials, they are used for drift fishing for steelhead. I am almost certain they’re made out of balsa wood.
Can anyone help me find some….Jesse in Oregon

Quick question for some fishing pro’s. I am new to fishing and wanted to know what is the easiest lure for a beginner that you can actually catch fish on? Is there such a think and as a single saltwater and freshwater lure that works well, in both shallow water and open, weedless areas? Casting is from a dock, without the use of a boat and lake is low near the dock, with lots of weedy areas, but mostly weedless where it does get slightly deeper, a good long cast out. Sorry for the complications, but thanks, in advance, for any help. Central Florida area.

During the Spring and early summer I get out on the water as much as I can, but another form of fishing I enjoy is garage sale fishing. I do this on the weekends and I find great tackle and gear (lot’s of junk too) for almost nothing. Just yesterday, I found two nice fishing rods for a dollar apiece, 7 fishing reels for under 10 dollars, and a bunch of lures, and supplies for a dollar. My wife said I didn’t need any more fishing stuff, but some of it is better than some of my gear now (which I plan on replacing), and you can never have too many lures! I already fixed the 2 poles with the 2 best reels, and have another nice trout pole, and another nice catfish pole. Does anyone else do this on this forum? Post on what you found?
Regards,
Jerry

Well, it looks like I am will be hosting my father for the summer and I would like to buy a few nice lures to inspire my father to get out of the house and do some fishing. Where I live there are many inlets and bays around (Tampa) and this being Florida great fishing. I’m looking for good all-around fishing lure advice. I want to start with freshwater (what I’m familiar with) so I have ideas of what will work, but I would like advice on what works best. Interested in buying a well-rounded set so he can try a variety of different situations? Plus, if you know of any good spots around Bradenton Beach or Sarasota Bay that would be helpful. We don’t have the proper equipment to travel far off-shore, so we tend to stay close to shore. Thanks- Liz

What is the correct method on hooking a minnow while fishing? I honestly don’t know what I am doing wrong when hooking a minnow because they die really fast. Over the weekend I bought a bucket full then went to the lake and every time I hooked a minnow it was dead within minutes. I think it would just be wise to switch to dead bait or lures that I am use too. Any advise for me? Thanks in Advance- Bill in TX

I want to start making my own fishing lures? I’ve been fishing for forever now (30 years) and fishing all sorts of different types of fishing bass, bream, crappie, perch, carp, trout, catfish, and many different techniques and styles of fishing. I want to develop the “ultimate fishing lure” that will pull in any fish and it will catch anything. I’m tired of wasting my money on so many different lures that just don’t work, I just need the perfect lure. Am I trying to develop or find the holy grail?- Thanks Dave

I do a lot of hunting and fishing and I meet a lot of people that are pro-staff for hunting and fishing companies such as lures ammo, rods reels, guns, clothing. I talk to them a bunch about equipment and stuff, but never asked them how do you become a pro-staffer for these companies? Some of the people I’ve talk to are just plain ignorant in many things related.

This last summer I started fishing with lures with great success. (Yes, I know I am stubborn) No it’s time to fill the tackle box and I was thinking about plastic worms, spinner bait … What else do I need? Basic would be nice.
-Thanks KB

Yes, I know everyone is on a budget now. So I was wondering if there is a Wal-Mart online for cheap fishing lures? Like the way hunter are able to go to Cheaper Then Dirt to get their hunting supplies. I’ll be heading south to Baja Mexico for a month and the local tackle shops like to buy a lot of stuff from North of the boarder…;-)
Thanks, Angler Bill
