Cleaning your rod and reel
Best method for cleaning your fishing  gear ie, rods and reels? Thought i’d check in and ask for the best methods and material that you all would use to clean your fishing rods, reels, and gear? I’m am probably like many anglers that usually use wd40 and it seems to work well but there must be a better solution for cleaning them?
Suggestions/advice?

Garage sale fishing

garage sale fishing During the Spring and early summer I get out on the water as much as I can, but another form of fishing I enjoy is garage sale fishing. I do this on the  weekends and I find great tackle and gear (lot’s of junk too) for almost nothing. Just yesterday, I found two nice fishing rods for a dollar apiece, 7 fishing reels for under 10  dollars, and a bunch of lures, and supplies for a dollar. My wife said I didn’t need any more fishing stuff, but some of it is better than some of my gear now (which I plan on replacing), and you can never have too many lures! I already fixed the 2 poles with the 2 best reels, and have another nice trout pole, and another nice catfish pole. Does anyone else do this on this forum? Post on what you found?

Regards,

Jerry

Light action fishing reels cost more than medium.

Saturday, January 16th, 2010
In my opinion the medium rod and reel action is the all round rod and reel. I can catch almost anything besides heavy catfish and muskie. The light can catch trout except for the 8lb+ , bullheads, suckers, and panfish. So why do they cost more? They sell less of them? What gives?

Antigue fishing reels value

Friday, October 16th, 2009
I was cleaning out the old mans attic and found three old reels. I believe a  Langley Reelcast, Red River model#v-7345 and a Pflueger Supreme. Any information on the value if any of these reels. There is a lot of older gear, but trying to figure out what they are. My father has based many years ago and I do not fish and times are a bit tough.

How to wash/clean my fishing reels?

Thursday, October 15th, 2009
I just bought (and used) three new saltwater reels and this is all new to me. Fishing is over for me untill next year so I want to clean and store them. Should I just clean them like freshwater reels?. Advice on  how to wash and oil it after I’m done for the day? Do I have to take them all apart?

Any websites or experience would be nice because of the money I spent on them.

Thanks much….Dell
