I am a single Mom that knows very little on fishing and was looking for information from one of you serious fisherman that could give me some direction and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My 15 yrs old son, is a self taught fisherman and is actually pretty impressive with his knowledge. He has collected/traded many fishing rods trying to get the right one. Over the winter he was able to trade/work and he had finally got his dream rod. (it cost about $350.00) I think he would have slept with it at night if he could.
Sadly, we went to the Pier,- it was at night and my son had two poles and needless to say, his dream rod got stolen. Anyway, he was heart broken and now his birthday is coming up and I wanted to get him a new one although I don’t plan to spend that much and inexpensive reels may not be your forte’, but what would you suggest to get or look for in a pole that cost around. $75.00? Also, we live in Florida, so he fishes in both fresh and saltwater.
Thanks in advance,
Lisa

I got my father a new fishing rod for Christmas because his old one doesn’t work well. We go fishing in Ontario, Canada near the U.S. border. We go on a lake and catch mostly large mouth bass and occasionally a pike or a small mouth bass. We usually use live minnows for bait and occasionally spinners or spoons. Any other suggestion?

Is there a fishing rod that can do it all? Is it possible? I understand the gear companies want to produce as much as possible for new product sales plus the many different verities or fish and the surrounding . Ideally something that is good from a boat, the shore, a bridge, a jetty, salt water and fresh water. Is there a miracle fishing rod out there or set up? If not what set up will be the most well rounded? I know nothing and I am not afraid to spend for high quality but truly like to educate myself before I buy.
Howard.

My favorite and lucky rod snapped in October and I just can’t part with it. The top part of the pole (the skinnier section) snapped off. It is a 7ft. Pflueger Echelon IM-6 Graphite rod. I tried to go on the website but they don’t repair rods anymore. I am in need of your help. Please and thank you.
