Is it possible to take my 26′ Bayliner Explorer (Trawler style) boat and start a charter fishing business on in Florida? Are different parts of Florida easier or more difficult to get a license? What kind of insurance is required?
Anyhelp would be appreciated,

A good place to dive and fish in florida? I am in central Florida in a little town near the villages with a 36 foot boat. I don’t mind traveling but wouldnt want to drive more than two and a half hours. I was thinking about Welaka Springs in putnam county. If anyone knows any places or wants to point me in a direction where boats are allowed please help me out. Thanks in advanced.

I am so tired of the long cold winters here in SD and would like to live in Florida half the year. I am in my early 50’s with a set income and very athletic we would like a place with bike paths, fishing/boating long beaches for walking, and affordable. I’ve heard prices have come down considerably in Florida and looking for a real deal! I just want to relax and play while living part time in Fl. Thought I’d ask here before I start looking deeper.
Thanks,

Just got news from my job I’ll have 2 weeks off in January and want to head to South Florida to do some fishing. The Florida F&G web site said they allow fishing off of the beach and piers. However, it is winter so I was wondering if there is anything to be caught off of the shore that time of year and what baits might work best? Or just forget it and go for charter fishing instead?

Yes, another new Floridian asking a fishing question and yes, new to CupidFish. I just moved right on lake poinsett in cocoa Florida and want to try my luck at freshwater fishing off my dock. Bait suggestions for a newbie and I am just looking to do some catch and release fishing and it does not really matter the type of fish. I’ve caught one gar by net and a few other things but getting no bites with a pole. I’ve been using lures, but would worms work better? Any live bait suggestions, or any lure kind? or both?
