Hey all, I have to work on the 4th but I have the rest of the week off and going camping and I am going to do some fly fish fishing and for (first time) largemouth bass. What is the best bait/fly to catch them with? I don’t think it could be much harder then lets say then channel catfish? I haven’t fished for a couple of years, but the last time I did was in the fly fishing and I caught a nice trout. If I could handle that I am thinking why not go fly fishing for largmouth bass?
Thanks!

Rooster fish fly fishing Baja! I am excited about heading down to the East Cape of the Baja Peninsula in a week to try my luck fly fish for some Baja rooster fish. We’ll be inshore fishing. I picked up at 10wt rod and I’m wondering what is the best line to get (floating, sink tip, full sink). What I need to know from my fellow fly anglers here at CupidFish is the type of Fly line would you recommend?
Thanks and happy 4th!
Larry

Hey all thought I’d jump in and ask for some summer trout fishing tips. I live in New Mexico, I am a trout angler, but to catch trout I have to travel a long way to find cold enough water. The lake I fish, but the trout fishing has slowed down a lot because of the heat. The catfish, bass, walleye, and crappie are biting hard and though I’m mainly focused on just catching any fish now and not just trout. From summer to early fall whats the best bait and locations for any of those fish? Thanks anything helps I just want to start catching fish again preferring trout.
Martin
P.S. I am not fly fishing, but bait casting

Good after noon CupidFish I am Jeff in Alabama! Thought I’d join and pitch a question to get myself going here. My question is for the fly fisherman on this blog. As mentioned I live in (south eastern corner) Alabama and looking to get into Fly Fishing this
summer.
I got into fly fishing about a decade ago, but I wasn’t able to free up time to do it and sold my gear. So i’m looking to start up again but i just moved to Alabama. So anyway, i am wondering about some places to try fly fishing in the south eastern corner of alabama.
Thanks all for any advice you can throw my way.

It’s looking like it’s going to be a go because my work gave me some time off after 2 years of working straight. Anyway, me a some of my friends want to go on a Canadian fly fishing trip this summer. Can anyone recommend a good place. Which is better fly in or drive in? Thought I’d ask here and see that there are some nice helpful anglers. Also, if you have any information/guides etc. What gear would you recommend and we want to go fly fishing so any fly advice would be helpful. Thanks- Jeff

Hey all! This is going to be my second season fly fishing so I am sort/kinda of new to fly fishing. I went fishing for trout today in my local river, pretty good current, but I did not even have a bite. I know they are in there because I saw some flashing every now and then. So, I threw a popper, and my other best fly that i cant remember the name of, so if there are any suggestions i would love any advice anyone could give thank you! – AR-Trout-Dude.

I just can’t decide and I am looking to ether buy a kayak or pontoon for fly fishing. I am not certain that a kayak will have the comfort for a full day of fishing like a pontoon. I absolutely love float tubes as they are very relaxing and I can enjoy the fishing experience all day.
Which type of fishing do you prefer, pontoon for kayak and why? Thanks in advance, Dave in Utah

Okay, now I’ve scouted long and hard and found out where the trout are, but the question is, what is the best bait for that? Also, this stream holds only small trout so wouldn’t the fly line spinner bait be a bit too big for them?
