I truly like to tie and wanted to and possibly sell some online or to various fly shops. Will I be able to do this without a business license even if the sells are small and under let’s say $5k a year? It’s not so much about making money, but to be able to tie flies.
Thanks Derrick

I’ve been fishing for years and been angling a spinner for years, and it’s no time for fly fishing. I live in the Pacific Northwest and was looking for a rod and reel combo to catch bass, trout, and occasionally pinks and steelies. I have my eye on a Redington RS4 outfit, but was unsure what size tippet to get (1x or 5x) and what size reel to get with the combo. I am new to fly-fishing and was wondering how I should go about purchasing my combo and what works best. Any answers help. thanks.

Is fly fishing really that hard? My brother and I would like to try it next time we go to Utah. We’d get an experienced guide, of course, but, would we spend the entire day learning as opposed to catching fish? Are the fundamentals easy to learn, or really that hard?

I really want to get into fly fishing and only spin fished and never really gotten into casting flies. I have zero knowledge and gear and no idea where to start. Should I attend a beginner’s class at my local Orvis outfitter’s store and I expect them to tell me a ton. I just can’t wait for the class in a week. Anyway, any and all info welcome! I need some lists of rods and reels, line, and any other gear I should know about! Thanks!

Hey, cupidfish Anglers! I found this site looking through google and wanted to introduce myself and ask a quick question about fishing Northern California. We have several jetties here and I rarely see anyone fishing so I wanted to give it a go. Although, I have never managed to hook any of these monster lings I see/ hear about so much. My question is i’d like to fly fish these jetties, but needed some info on what to use or technique.
Hugs and release,
Ed

Hello CupidFish. My name is Mike and I have a booked 4 week trip through Western Europe (starting in Ireland) starting in May. I want to do some fly fishing and now starting to collect information before I go. So if any Euros out there want to throw a few tips my way, it would sure be appreciated. The main question is, what sort of flies would you use in Europe for fly fishing?

Well It looks like I am going to make it to the big 40! For my birthday I’ve been given an opportunity to travel to any part of the continental US for a two week fly fishing trip in the spring. I am opening it up here for suggestions. My ideal trip would be one where I could hire a guide for a day or two then fish on my own. Anyone had any good trips they would recommend? Guides or place you’d highly recommend?
Thanks Lance..

First time poster here. I am a bass anglers, but I am very interested in other forms of fishing. My problem is I am on a budget and tend to jump into hobbies a bit too quick. So my question, is there a beginner affordable fly fishing kit set to start with? I don’t want to go full into a hobby that might not be to my liking.

Just as the subject says this is a great video providing strategies on gear and fly selection, as well as fishing methods designed to hook trout in the coldest of temperatures. Looks like this guy knows his stuff. Great video for winter fly fishing.
