Cupidfish Florida Fishing question?

Florida fishing flag
Hey All, looking for some Florida fishing and travel advice. My kids and I will be flying into Tampa in mid-September where we will stay in a hotel in South of the City to first visit or newly retired relatives. One of our main goals is to visit the Everglades and of course, go to Key West and hopefully do some great fishing. Any suggestions on what to do or what you would highly recommend/other fun things to do? We would like to avoid huge tourist destinations and don’t want to stay in large cities like Miami or Orlando. All we want to do is relax and have some fun and our trip will be 14 days.
Thanks for any information,
Jerry, in NJ

South Florida Fishing in January?

Friday, October 23rd, 2009
Just got news from my job I’ll have 2 weeks off in January and want to head to South Florida to do some fishing.  The Florida F&G web site said they allow fishing off of the beach and piers. However, it is winter so I was wondering if there is anything to be caught off of the shore that time of year and what baits might work best? Or just forget it and go for charter fishing instead?

2008 Seaswirl Striper 1851 Walk around

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

My father is planning to buy a boat soon for some fall fishing, to take to the bay cause we love fishing. We just want a small fishing boat maybe like 18-20ft cause we are beginners. This local dealer is selling Seaswirl Striper boats and there is one bot that we really both like.

It is the 2008 Seaswirl Striper 1851 Walk around . Would this be a good boat for starters, and is it a good fishing boat to take to a bay, or a lake or salt water? Hopefully we can get it this year, and there is also a key west dealer near us, and a neighbor of ours sold his huge boat, cause he is getting on so he boat a key west. He said it will never sink, and it is maybe 17ft. Any information on this boat would be appreciated.
