Beginners rod & reel combo advice needed. I joined cupidfish to meet women and not so much of a fisherman. So I am thinking about going fishing this summer and need a rod and reel “new guy” combo suggestion. I will be fishing from the coast/bank of a lake or a boat. In short, an all-around- rod/reel if possible? Price should not be the main indicator, rather ease of use.
Thanks!!
Paul

Hello all! I’ve got a quick question for the striper anglers here at CupidFish. What’s a good rod/reel setup for striped bass? I’ve been fishing off the surf in NJ. I already have a descent bait rod now I just need to buy a rod to throw lures i.e poppers, bombers, diamond jigs, bucktails, etc. What size, brand rod should I get? What kind of reel? (lb test/yards). I’m looking to spend anywhere from $100 to $150. Thanks- Josh

Hey all fellow anglers I needed some advice from some CupidFish redfish fishermen. What is the best rod/reel setup? Spinning or casting reel? What length rod would you recommend? If you could cast some advice my may i’d sure appreciate it.

Hello all I have a quick question when fishing for bass in south Florida lakes. I can’t catch anything in the lakes and I always get caught in the weeds. As you see I’m a bit new at it so any advice you can flip my way would sure help. Also, what type of rod and reel/ line would you recommend?

Talking to a few of my buddies online keep mentioning they are amazing. My friends mention it’s simple to tie a fly on the and slowly retrieve it. Also, mentioned it’s used with a spinning rod and reel. Please tell me how to do it and if it will work Trout fishing the Ozarks.
Thanks for any information Bobby

Spending an arm and a leg for something higher quality, seams to be the norm these days. I am looking not to spend more than $100 for a rod/reel combo. If it makes a difference, I do a lot of largemouth bass fishing, but I’m looking to get into some winter trout fishing as well. I would like the rod to be light and durable and able to handle catching Lake Trout as well as smaller trout and bass. Any rod and reel suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

Dad, passed many years ago and I found his fly lures in the garage . A local creek near my house is known for its brown trout and fly fishing. but I do not have a fly fishing pole. Is it possible to use flys with my normal fishing pole? Yes, I know it’s an out question, but I’m a bit cheap due to the economy and can’t afford to buy a fly pole or the time to learn.
