Surf fishing bait For Florida?

Sunday, October 4th, 2009
Hello: I see lot’s of good question here and better answers so let me ask one. I  am from Washington State and I am taking a trip to florida and was wondering what the best baits are to catch any type of fish in Florida from the shore/surf? I’ll be going to Punta Gorda. Also, if know some specific baits for specific fish please let me know. Also, I know in Florida it used to be that if you have to pay to fish, such as fishing a pier, that you don’t need a fishing license. Is that still the case? . It sure would save me a lot of time a because I only have 3 days.
Thanks..

A freshwater saltwater boat

Thursday, September 24th, 2009
Well the time has come (came into some funds $25k) and I am looking to purchase a used boat, but am trying to decide what style that would best suit my needs. An  open bow or center console. The boat will primarily be used for saltwater fishing in the South west, but also I would like something that I can use for water skiing in local lakes. Also,  boat will need to be towed a lot. A few things I am looking for in a boat are:

Good Stability in the ocean (not deep sea, but far enough out where i can do some fishing)
Some what easy to launch/recover from different ramps
If possible (yes, I know it’s a boat) low mantience costs.
And finally an outboard motor.

Any help tips, tricks, suggestions, ideas will be appreciated.

Tom

Saltwater fishing at night?

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009
I am a  little bit confused or disappointed? I went out for some saltwater fishing about a half hour in from the ocean this morning and caught a lot of  fish. The fishing conditions were horrible with lot’s of wind and chop. So today, I checked out the water and see it was calm and perfect and decided to try during the night. I went for about five hours starting at sunset and didn’t get anything except a few stingrays. The weather was warm-cool with little wind and nice calm water. Is saltwater fishing just bad during the night time or what?

Opinion on freshwater or Saltwater fishing?

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009
The past couple of years I’ve been saltwater fishing and like it more compared to freshwater fishing. When I was younger I did a lot of freshwater fishing and inn my opinion saltwater fishing is much more enjoyable. The fish are much bigger. You never know what you’re gonna pull up plus the fish (to me) taste a lot better and of course, a bigger verity. So why do people go freshwater fishing when they can go saltwater fishing? Are there any reasons freshwater is better than salt besides the fact, that you have an option.
