West coast shore fishing rigs?

Hey WC anglers I am Dan from PA and I am a teacher and planning for my summer vacation and decided to shore fish California all the way down to Cobo Mexico. I will be new to “West Coast” sea/shore fishing, but I need some good graphical instructions on how to make a line, dimensions and style of rigs that work best on the Left Coast. If you can help I’d sure will appreciate it.

Coarse gear when Sea fishing

Heading out to the coast for a few days and fancied a bit of fishing. I’m a coarse angler by trade and wondered if my gear would be up to a salty dip. I’ve read that mullet can be tamed on a waggler, but fancied trying out my power feeder. Would this be up to any thing?

Speckled trout on the Mississippi Gulf

We have had some heavy rain lately and I need some tips on finding them or targeting speckled trout on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I know the water salinity will be down due to all the rain, but I am not sure as to what affect it has on the sea trout regularly. Os should I try to catching other fish if you think it would be more productive.It’s going to be a fun weekend!
