What to look for shore fishing?
Tuesday, March 30th, 2010What to look for shore fishing? I’ve always been interested in mainly fishing from the shore. But I just can’t figure out when are the best times and lure/baits to use because some days I catch a lot of fish and others nothing what so ever. How do I avoid snags, I’ve used the snag free lures and weedless lures but I don’t have much luck with them.
All I’ve been seeming to catch this year have been 25″ + Northerns! Which isn’t that bad except for the destruction of my lures. And the ever so lovely line snap. I guess I prefer to catch bass primarily. I’ve caught a few but, small, but I a’m just not set up for pike. I need a stronger pole and set up that will work up here in Rochester NY.
Thanks- Anthony
Texas Gulf Coast shore fishing
Monday, March 22nd, 2010Texas Gulf Coast shore fishing. I’ll be heading down soon and I don’t have to have top of the line equipment, but I would like to invest in reasonably priced, good equipment that will last. I am aiming to catch red fish, SW trout, pompano, and other medium sized fish out of the shore/surf.
Before I go is there any brand names, and specs on what kind of equipment to get for fishing in the surf in the Texas Gulf Coast you’d suggest?. Namely, rod, reel, line weight, weights, etc…the basics for someone with no equip!!! Thanks in advance!

West coast shore fishing rigs?
Wednesday, March 17th, 2010Hey WC anglers I am Dan from PA and I am a teacher and planning for my summer vacation and decided to shore fish California all the way down to Cobo Mexico. I will be new to “West Coast” sea/shore fishing, but I need some good graphical instructions on how to make a line, dimensions and style of rigs that work best on the Left Coast. If you can help I’d sure will appreciate it.

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009Aloha CupidFish! I’ll be fishing for fun this weekend, and I really don’t care what I catch. I just want to cast out a line pretty far and leave it, and see if I can get anything Although this may not be the best strategy, but I do not have the patience to keep casting, etc. What would be the best bait to use? What fish could I likely catch this way? Any tips for my suggested method would be appreciated?

Northern California shore fishing
Sunday, August 9th, 2009Although it is early August, where are the best reservoirs/lakes/rivers/surfcasting spots/fishing piers to fish in Northern California? What kind of bait should I use, and what would I be fishing for? Is it possible to catch Halibut this time of year? Thanks for any answers in advance.

Friday, August 7th, 2009My friend and I are looking for a camping spot this summer, and we want a spot where we can fish from the shore. We do not own a boat, but we could pretty much go anywhere in state. Any information sure would be helpful.
Thanks
Albert
