Lake Cumberland Kentucky fishing

Thursday, September 16th, 2010
Hey all are there any Kentucky anglers here? It looks like I will be fishing Lake Cumberland this coming week, September 26th to be exact and looking for advice on fishing in late September? I am somewhat new to Kentucky fishing and my new area , so any advice/explanation of terms would be appreciated. I usually just fish with live worms and minnows in lakes near my house and Lake Cumberland is just a few miles down the road. Need information is the type of lures, bait, reel, rod, fishing depth, time of day, etc. sure would all be helpful. Very new to Lake Cumberland, like I said. Thanks in advance. Great site BTW, fishing and dating..what could be better?
Thanks, David!

Lake fishing at night gear?

Saturday, July 24th, 2010
night fishing Hello cupid Fish! This is my first post to the blog. I’ll be heading out on Sunday night to do lake fishing at night in Ga., I’ll be going for bass more then anything. I was wondering if I should buy some glow-sticks. I am also bringing watermelon trick worms and was wondering if i should use something different for night? I figured that darker worms for night and light for day, but any other tips you want to cast my way?.. feel free to throw some ideas at me for bait/tactics. Thanks in Advance-JD in Ga.

Three lures that never fail

Friday, July 2nd, 2010
It’s Friday and I have a few more hours to kill then I am off fishing on the river. So let’s play “three lures that never fail”…My choices:
1. Yellow or white mini-king spinner-bait
2. Three inch rapala
3. Four inch plastic Renegade worms

One of those lures mention has worked so well,  the success rate is 95% of times I was on the water. I fish some of the best spots I can and not the ones where there are 30 idiots on a boat fishing the smallest lake in the state.

Sultan Washington Water Trails

Monday, January 18th, 2010
Hello All: I am heading to the skycomish river in sultan and I was wondering how my setup is.

3 weights about 3 feet above my hook: 3 inches above my hook i have a little reflector with wings to spin it with a orange ball on top of it with a swivel holding it from falling to the hook. Hows my setup and how could I catch more steelhead? Is it the rocks thats tricking me that i’m geting a bite? I could use worms, powerbait, gulp nightcrawlers, gulpmaggots, salmon eggs and i have alot of other stuff. Obviously, I am fishing for steelheads and rainbow trout. Ive only caught 1 small steelhead and over 30 rainbow trouts overall in my whole time fishing there in the past. Plus 10 pound line and i’m not sure what my hook size is. Anyone want to cast some advice my way?

Frank

How to set up a new fishing rod?

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010
Obviously, I  know how to put together my rod and to put line on the reel, but I need the knot for tying a hook in and what bait to put on them. I’m mostly fishing for bass and other freshwater fish like mudfish, catfish, and how to put on artificial bait and artificial. My question is how to maintain the gear or store it when not in use because it’s expensive for my budget. Or tips tricks because it’s been over 20 years since I last fished.
Thank you for your time. Tim

Florida freshwater winter dock fishing

Monday, October 12th, 2009
Yes, another new Floridian asking a fishing question and yes, new to CupidFish. I just moved right on lake poinsett in cocoa Florida and want to try my luck at freshwater fishing off my dock.  Bait suggestions for a newbie and I am  just looking to do some catch and release fishing and it does not really matter the type of  fish. I’ve  caught one gar by net and a few other things but getting no bites with a pole. I’ve been using lures, but would worms work better? Any live bait suggestions, or any lure kind? or both?
